This is a sponsored review from BlogHer and MasterCard MarketPlace.
I have a confession to make. Only once in my lifetime have I ever gotten up at dark thirty to participate in the phenomenon known as Black Friday. And this was in 1998, B.C. (before children). I further have to admit that I did not do this to score a really great deal.
My husband and I were poor as church mice, and lived in Florida with one bedraggled truck between the two of us. A truck that had NO AIR CONDITIONING. A local store was advertising a car giveaway. The only catch was that you had to arrive at dark thirty on Black Friday, get in a line that wrapped around the store no fewer than 4 times, and receive a die-cast toy car. Only one die-cast car would be stamped as “winner.”
The only thing we walked away with was a bunion, and a free die-cast toy car.
It was an interesting experience, but one that I’ve never felt the need to repeat.
I’m more of a cyber-Monday type of gal. The thrill of the hunt for me can occur behind the comfort of my keyboard, at a reasonable hour, while wearing my bunny slippers.
Now I’ve discovered that I can have a Cyber-Monday experience, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With extra special deals for the holiday season.
There is a site called MasterCard MarketPlace. There are a number of vendors that are my favorites. For example, Best Buy, Children’s Place, Cooking.com, Home Depot, Sears, and The Container Store are among the online stores that are participating. There are many many more, but these are some of the stores that I regularly shop online.
Signing up is a breeze, and then I was able to peruse some of the past and present offers AND read some very helpful reviews. Also, because I signed up, I’m able to receive notification on special deals beforehand.
If you are a regular reader, you know that I’ve recently been diagnosed with late stage Lyme Disease. And at this point in my treatment, I’m unable to get out and do my annual Christmas shopping. It is my plan to do the entirety of my holiday shopping ONLINE this year. And believe me, I am not at all broken up about not experiencing the hustle and bustle of crowded stores, jockeying for parking spaces, and the temptation of pretzels sprinkled with CINNAMON AND SUGAR, in the mall. But maybe that’s just me.
The discovery of MasterCard MarketPlace, could not have come at a better time for me.

Are you comfortable shopping for gift items online, and if so, what are a couple of your favorite sites?
