The Dog Whisperer

Interestingly, this is a child that will not be caught within 10 feet of a green vegetable.  So, the training is coming along splendidly.  And Mater is doing a pretty good job too…

Have an awesome weekend.

  • Priceless! 🙂

  • “Frozen peas, niiiiiice”. – FD

That has to be the line of the century. I love it!

  • The little boy did his job as a pretty good trainer. Giving reward is really effective, hoping the dog will learn more tricks from peas. Lol

  • It’s a bit embarrassing to admit – but my children all got better behaved while I was taking dog-training classes! Positive reinforcement is the key, apparently. There’s an excellent book called “Don’t Shoot the Dog” by Karen Pryor, a former dolphin trainer, which I think you would enjoy. Think about training dolphins for a moment – if they don’t want to do what you say, they can just swim off – you can’t put ’em in time out. Mater looks like a wonderful dog, and the kids are clearly deeply in love with him!

  • Oh my goodness, this had me smiling.

First, the wag on that tail, it is good.

And then, “Can I have one?” followed by “Good boy, sit Jenson, sit!”

But … the clincher? “Can I have some water, please…” That caught me off guard and I ended up with sweet tea out the nose…
