Paying the Piper

First of all, thank you all for all of the lovely singing. Stephanie forwarded all of your birthday wishes and off key singing to me from 5 Minutes for Parenting. I needed kleenex for my tears, and cotton balls for my ears.

Good form, y’all. You make me proud.

And indeed, I ate my way through the day. The pinnacle of my dining experience was when I consumed my body weight in fine Mexican food.

You may recall I was in mourning earlier this year when my favorite Mexican restaurant burned to the ground. A sad day, to be sure. Especially since it was the only Mexican restaurant that I could frequent without someone having to hold my hair afterwards.

I’ll let you think about that for a moment.

Anyhoo. The Phoenix has risen from the ashes. And saints be praised, my favorite Mexican restaurant is BACK. Built from the ground up. And better than ever.

And I may have celebrated a bit too hard. Because I can no longer see my feet. And my measurements may all be the same number. In other words, I resemble a sausage.

Alas. It’s once a year. And as Scarlett once said, “Tomorrow is another day.” And today, my metabolism and I have a long standing date with a certain treadmill that is trying to kill me.

Have a great Monday, y’all!

  • Say hello to the treadmill for me.

I haven’t seen mine since February.

  • I am sorry I missed your post yesterday. Happy Belated Birthday! 🙂

I don’t blame you one bit for celebrating by eating every meal out. 🙂 Don’t worry abou the “over celebrating”, you have a whole year to work it off before the next go around. 😉

If my favorite Mexican restaurant were close by I would be celebrating EVERY DAY! I would celebrate every occasion, especially the days that ended with me NOT pulling my hair out.

Today would not be one of those days, and it’s not even 8:00 am. 🙁

  • The corn is ready here. There’s a farmer’s stand of corn in our area, and it’s the best corn under the sun. I no longer eat corn until that corn is ready. Last night I ate an obligatory turkey sandwich (would have happily eaten just corn), and 3 cobs. Had to be rolled out of my mother’s house. Didn’t feel like I got enough corn.

  • I am so glad you had a happy birthday! Oh, I could really go for my weight in Mexican food right now…

  • Are you ready for me to sing the Friday’s birthday song now? 🙂

Glad you had a great day. Any birthday that has Mexican food involved is a guaranteed success in my book.

  • Is it wrong to eat Mexican food for breakfast? I have this sudden craving . . .

I bought an elliptical a week ago, I have yet to get on it. I’m not sure, but I think there is something wrong with this picture.

  • I totally missed the birthday celebration! Does it count if I went to Mexican this weekend anyway?

Personally, I think the best way to celebrate another year is to down it with crab rangoons, hot and sour soup and something that requires chopsticks. But hey, to each her own! 🙂

  • well darnit, now I am just craving a big plate of nachos
