The Homeschool Blog Awards announced the winners this morning, and It Coulda Been Worse came in first In the Funniest Homeschool Blog and the Best Nitty Gritty Homeschool Blog Categories.
I’d like to thank my children for the opportunity to homeschool them. Instead of, say, requesting to attend military school. Which is always an option, I gently remind them.
I’d like to thank Fiddledaddy for working so hard to keep me in the manner to which I’ve become accustomed. And at home so that I can homeschool my children. And eat bon-bons on my couch.
I’d like to thank God for giving me the strength to get up each morning to homeschool my children. And the patience. Which by the way, God, if your listening, I could you an extra helping of today. Along with a little relief from the HORMONAL roller coaster I’m riding, thankyouverymuch.
And I’d like to thank you all, my friends, cyber-friends, and family for voting for me. And for all of your encouragement. You bless me every single day.
The competition was stiff. I was up against some wonderful blogs. In the Funniest Category, I won by only a small margin. And I’ve discovered a couple of new blogs that I really like, Fish In My Hair, and Hilltop Academy. Still His Girl was also in that category, but I already adore her.
In the Nitty Gritty category, I was up against Amy’s Humble Musings. I’ve met Amy in real life. We were in the same homeschool group briefly a few years ago. Before I even knew what a blog was. She is one talented gal. I’ve been stalking her blog for the last year or so. She has 6 children, for crying out loud. Her insight floors me.
As far as the campaign promise that I made to a few of you, you know, the one that if I should win anything I promise not to talk about anything gross on my blog anymore.
Campaign promises are meant to be broken.
If I couldn’t talk about gross stuff, my blog would read something like this.
“I have no idea what I had for breakfast.”
“And dinner involved a Metamucil chaser.”
(cue the crickets)
See what I mean?
Anyhoo, I’m honored. Thank you again. And thank you to all the gals at the HSBA site for their hard work. They’ve taken a lot of grief this last month. It’s you girls that deserve an award. In my opinion.
