And You Can Fry Up a Chicken, Too

Here in sunny Florida, as soon as the temperature dips below 75, I do the happy dance. I love the cooler weather. The humidity drops as well and I’m assured of a good hair day now and again. However, along with the drier weather, comes lizard like scaly hands and feet.

I have spent a small fortune on hand and foot creams. If you want to call anything over $5.00 a jar, a fortune. But no more. I read about a product that will give you soft, smooth, hands and feet for a fraction of the cost of the overpriced luxury creams. I was reluctant to try it. But a 16 oz. canister only costs a couple of bucks at Stuff•Mart and lasts forever. I slather it on before bedtime, then put on my woolly cotton socks and a pair of white cotton gloves. And don’t you know that I’m an attractive sight. And, happily, it’s odor-free. I was afraid that I’d be inviting ants in my bed.

This stuff works better that anything I’ve ever tried! Now I’m on the hunt for a pretty little jar to house the contents because a can of Crisco on my nightstand looks, well, a little tacky.

Wow! Does that really work?? I can’t tell you how much money we spend on foot creams for my husband who has a terrible problem with dry skin in the winter!! Thank you for sharing it!!

What?!!!!! Wow,too cool. My hands actually have small cracks in them I wasn’t aware of until I used my antibacterial cleaner….ouch!!!! And, well my heels hurt to walk on at times cuz the cracks are so huge. So, I’ll have to let ya know if I get soft and smooth from our baking friend!
Thanks for the “Super Secret”!!!

I think I would think other things if I saw a can of Criso by your bedstand. I have actually heard of this, but have never tried it. Hmmmm….. maybe time to go get some Crisco.

And where is our cold whether??? I hear it was cold when I was in Phx.

Yes, yes, yes, it really works. And I’ve tried other “lotions” with socks and gloves, but they didn’t work for me.
And L.W., get your mind out of the dumpster :) I KNOW, it’s all rainy, hot and balmy here. My hair is unhappy.

I would try that, but I’m afraid that my husband would try to make biscuits out of me…

75 degrees?? How far is your country from my country? ;) It’s around 5 degrees up here right now, too cold for this Southern girl!

Thanks for sharing this. It’s much needed around here! And I love your sense of humor =)

Crisco. Are you SERIOUS??????? I am totally gonna try this. I’ll let you know if it works for me. I remember my sister rubbing that stuff all over herself when she was “getting a tan.” This, I do not recommend.

Kristen,
Yes, that was me. And my neighbors are none too happy about it either. :)

Does this really work, or is this some funny joke you’re pulling? Because if I pull out the Crisco and smear it all over my hands and feet only to find out this is a joke, I’m not going to think that’s funny.
Well, actually, I will. But my husband might not. He already thinks blogging is weird; that’ll throw him over the edge!:)

Sarah,
NO, it’s not a joke. Although, that would really be funny. But I’d have so many blogging moms mad at me. And you know, paybacks would be warranted. I would never steer anyone wrong. On purpose.
Ask my husband, I slap this stuff on my feet first, then once I’m besocked, I smear it on my hands and put my little white cotton gloves on. I always have to remember to go to the bathroom first, though.
My husband thinks blogging is weird too. Mostly because I sit on this hard chair until my rear is numb. I have actually fallen to the floor after standing up when my legs are fast asleep.
My husband has demanded that I print a retraction. He does not think blogging is weird, as he got me started blogging in the first place. What he does find weird, is my obsession over my blog. Whatever.

DeeDee, first off, the word “besocked” is my new favorite word. I’m going to have to figure out a way to use it myself:)

And this: “Mostly because I sit on this hard chair until my rear is numb. I have actually fallen to the floor after standing up when my legs are fast asleep.” made me laugh so hard that my husband gave me another of his “You’ve lost your mind” looks. But I don’t care; that line is priceless:)

I am sure it works – I do the same thing with vaseline on both my hands and feet. It keeps them soft and supple all winter long!…the best part CHEAP!
Merry Christmas
